The IYEA program has been held annually since 2014, with 465 young international endoscopists from 48 countries having participated so far. The program has enabled them to acquire and develop new advanced knowledge and technical skills in GI endoscopy by clinical training at Korean high-volume centers, which in turn improve patient care in the applicant’s home.

Eligibility

  • Young International physicians working in GI endoscopy not residing in Korea under 40 years of age are eligible to apply.
  • All applicants must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • * Please note that those who have already participated in the IYEA program may not be accepted in case of overallotment.

Benefits & Awards

IDEN 2026 Registration Fee Reimbursement & Certificate
• Participants are required to complete the conference registration including payment processes.
• Please note that the registration fee (except for the IDEN membership fee) will be reimbursed on-site.
Participant Support Cost
• Participant support funds, which include airfare, accommodations, meals, and additional expenses, will be provided.
• The amount of support will vary by country.
Endoscopic training program
• Endoscopic training program at outstanding endoscopy centers in Korea

Participants

  • Around 20-30 people will be accepted as participants in UGI Endoscopy, LGI Endoscopy, ERCP and EUS.

Duties (Besides Training)

  • 1. Submission of an abstract for IDEN 2026 is a prerequisite.
  • 2. The abstract will also be presented at the Young Endoscopist Forum.
        The presentation format will be assigned based on the committee's review, with exceptional abstracts receiving awards.
  • 3. Completion and submission of evaluation sheets after the training is required.
  • 4. Registration for IDEN 2026 is mandatory.

Guidelines for Application

  • 1. Applicants should apply to their preferred field: UGI endoscopy, LGI endoscopy, ERCP or EUS.
  • 2. The training center for each application will be selected by the IDEN Committee and Training Center.
  • 3. Applicants are responsible for obtaining a visa (if necessary) and securing travel insurance.

    1) From your training preceptor/director
    2) From the president of your GI endoscopy society
    4 List of Published Articles Written in English (within the last 5 years)
    5 Passport A photocopy showing the photograph and identification information
    6 [Optional] English Proficiency Test - TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, G-TELP, etc.
    (Any internationally recognized English language test score or certificate can be submitted.)
